About Viewfinder Accounting
You didn't become a photographer to spend your evenings untangling receipts, chasing invoices, or guessing what HMRC will and won't let you claim. That's where we come in.
Our Story
I'm the founder of Viewfinder Accounting, and I specialise in bookkeeping, tax and accounting for UK professional photographers who would rather be behind the camera than wrestling with spreadsheets.
I've worked in income tax since 1990, so I've seen more than a few Budgets come and go. I'm a Fellow of the Association of Taxation Technicians (tax qualified since 1999), and a Fellow of the AAT.
My career has taken me from nine years at HMRC, through six years in general practice, to the last two decades focused on tax and accounting technology — which means I'm as comfortable with Making Tax Digital as I am with a tax return.
Photography isn't just my day job's subject matter, though — it's a genuine passion. I'm a keen amateur photographer myself, enjoying product, studio, landscape and event photography. I recently completed my BTEC HNC in Photography. It means when you talk to me about your business, I actually understand the world you're working in — not just the numbers behind it.

I combine three decades of tax experience with genuine industry understanding, so you can focus on your craft while I focus on your numbers
